Who is behind Gemba
Peter Haupt, managing director
I founded utilitas in 2000 and ran it for more than 20 years, an IT and cloud consulting firm in Aachen. We went into mid-sized companies and connected Microsoft 365 to what was already running. In those years I learned how managing directors make decisions. And that the product is rarely the problem. The problem is the gap between the product and the way a company really works.
In 2020 I sold utilitas. Then I studied psychology and data science, because I wanted to understand AI and human behaviour properly, not from articles. Today I bring both together.

Why the name Gemba
Gemba is a term from Japanese manufacturing. It stands for the place where the work happens. Good solutions come from there, not from the meeting room.
